Making a Difference in People’s Lives

The inspiration for founding Gru4Good came from a profound experience I had one evening in India. While visiting my grandparents, I was watching cricket with my grandfather, a retired schoolteacher. Suddenly, a gentleman and his teenage son asked for my grandfather. When my grandfather turned around and came close, the gentleman bowed and sought his blessings. He introduced himself as Sunil, a former student from 1986.

My grandfather recognized him immediately and invited them in. Sunil shared that he is now a vice-president at a major multinational company in Europe. He had specifically sought out my grandfather to express his gratitude and introduce him to his son. Sunil recounted how my grandfather’s encouragement and tutoring in high school had prevented him from dropping out, ultimately leading him to college and a successful career. My grandfather beamed with pride, knowing he had shaped not just Sunil’s future, but that of his entire family.

This encounter left a lasting impression on me, highlighting the transformative power of education, encouragement, and tutoring. It showed me how one person’s support can change the trajectory of another’s life. This is the essence of why I started Gru4Good. Our mission is to change lives by encouraging individuals to explore opportunities they might have otherwise dismissed out of fear. I chose math as our focus because studies show that strong math skills can lead to higher salaries and greater business success.

Gru4Good is committed to sharing 100% of our net revenue from tutoring to educate the underprivileged. One of the organizations we support is AIM for Seva. We firmly believe in transforming lives one child at a time through education. This belief in service before self is the backbone of our company.
